Mandu-guk

Dumpling Soup  

Ingredients

  • 4 shiitake mushrooms

  • 8 dried anchovies, large

  • 1 half yellow onion, chopped in half

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fish sauce

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • Salt to taste

  • 6-8 mandu

Make the soup

  • Boil 6 cups (1.5 liters) of water, anchovies, mushrooms and onion for 30 minutes.

  • Remove the anchovies and onion.

  • Add fish sauce, garlic, and mandu.

  • Simmer for 5-7 minutes.

  • Drizzle beaten egg while stirring.

  • Garnish with green onions.

  • Salt to taste.
